The Experience Shuk is a resource for Jewish camp professionals. As camps are planning their staff training, we know that Summer 2021 is bringing renewed focus to ensuring camp welcomes their entire community and allows all community members to thrive. The Shuk is here to help.

Below are staff training providers who offer virtual programs for in-person staff training.

Caroline Rothstein + The Dialogue Arts Project: This program combines art and interactive dialogue in order to facilitate conversations about inclusion and diversity among staff. They will strengthen communication skills and think about how to intentionally create safe spaces and build community at camp. See more details here

Keshet Education and Training: Keshet offers a variety of programs for staff members about how to thoughtfully include LGBTQ+ Jews in camp spaces. Think about the Jewish values of inclusion and tolerance as you learn practical tools for making camp a welcoming space to campers of all identities. Learn more about Keshet here.

Queering Judaism: Redefining Judaism as a Culture of Inclusion: Join Bina for a conversation about inclusion in Judaism and camp culture. Challenge your staff to engage meaningfully in social change and create spaces that feel comfortable for all campers. Connect with this program here

Meet the Israelis: Introduce your staff to real people who make up Israeli society and engage in meaningful dialogue with them. This program includes secular and religious Jews, Arabs, Ethiopians, soldiers, and more identity groups. Your staff will learn about how to communicate with those who see things differently and consider all perspectives. See more here.

See more about these options and more on the Experience Shuk. We have resources for staff training and events on a myriad of topics, and we encourage you to browse for ways to meaningfully train your staff for an unusual and highly anticipated summer. Check out the Shuk here
