MAKE YOUR OWN MUSICAL is a theatrical program that gives kids the opportunity to be the creators and stars of their own new original musical! Throughout, participants will learn to how to write their own original lyrics, melodies, and scenes. This interactive experience culminates with a performance for fellow campers. Led by award-winning composer and Jewish songleader Landon Braverman, Make Your Own Musical is a unique and fun way for kids to take control of their own Jewish narratives.
This is also a great opportunity for staff training! Counselors can bond by writing a new piece of music together and then sharing it with campers upon arrival.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
Make Your Own Musical is great for kids between the ages of 8-16. Participants need to be able to read and write. Staff are also highly encouraged to participate. No prior musical or songwriting experience is required – just energy and imagination!
WHAT IS THE CONTENT?
Whatever you like! We can write about a parsha, a Jewish value, or come up with something completely from our imaginations. My goal is to enrich your campers’ educational experience through artistic interactive creation.
WHAT IS THE TIMELINE?
The program is flexible to your needs. I budget 1-2 hours to write each song, and recommend each class be no longer than 1 hour. This could be done as a one-day intensive, or a multi-day experience ending with a larger creation. It could be for one bunk group, or for something involving multiple sections of camp.
