This short film shares insights on leadership dilemmas and decisions faced by David Ben-Gurion. Many remain relevant and sensitive to Israel and Zionism today. During crucial moments should a leader listen to protesting voices or remain true to personal judgment? Is a strong leader characterized by the authority he/she holds or shares? Should a leader be pragmatic and led by a current reality or a visionary daring to dream? The dilemmas presented in the film are intertwined with important historical events, such as Operation Nachshon in 1948, the reparations with Germany in 1952, and the move to Sde Boker in 1953. The 19-minute movie will be followed by a discussion on leadership and what values make a leader.
