The Experience Shuk is a platform for Jewish experience providers to offer their expertise to camps. This year, Jewish Camp @ Home is committed to helping camps identify these educators and providers in order to ease the burden on camps as they prepare for summer.
This blog post is dedicated to approaching Israel with staff.
IsraEd: Expose your staff to an overview of the geopolitical conflict in Israel. Give these young staff members the knowledge and tools to positively impact campers, their Jewish identities, and their connections to Israel. See the program here.
Speaking Life: An Israeli Woman’s Quest for Peace with author Noa Baum: Author Noa Baum runs personalized workshops based on her memoir and focuses on listening skills and inclusion. Provide your staff with an inside view into one woman’s experience with storytelling as a stepping stone to peacebuilding. See the experience here.
Beyond Wars, Security, and Diplomacy: Offer your staff a unique perspective on the culture and history of Israel. This program from the iCenter will take the narrative away from violence and conflict and give a creative overview of Israel’s social history. It is an opportunity to broaden participants’ viewpoint on the diversity of people that make up Israeli society. Check it out here.
Looking Israel in the Eye – Diverse Narratives Through Art: This program uses art to explore different perspectives as they fit into the Israeli narrative. It is both an opportunity to engage your staff in meaningful dialogue with art as its base and to model a meaningful program for your staff to run with their campers. See it here.
Virtual Tour of South Tel Aviv: Learn about social issues and challenges facing Israeli society in this interactive tour of a cultural hub in Israel. Your staff will learn about the history of the neighborhood of south Tel Aviv, understand its residents and their perspectives, and discuss the social challenges with which Israel struggles in this engaging program.
