Josh Friedman

Josh is a Ph.D. student in Cognitive Science in Education at Teachers College, Columbia University where he studies how what we know about others affects what we are willing and able to learn from them. For 15 summers at camp, and over 3 ½ years living, traveling, and teaching across 5 continents, Josh studied human development on individual and social psychological levels. His expertise in Social and Emotional Learning techniques is sourced from a history of leading challenge course programs, outdoor trips, camp care initiatives, mentorship programs, and now brain scan research. Josh hopes to offer the world simple, effective, evidence-backed models for social cohesion and conflict resolution based on a clearer picture of social dynamics.
